Who we are

I’m Kelly.  I’m a stay-at-home mama with two amazing daughters and a wonderful husband, Aaron.  Our oldest is three and a half and the baby will be one in less than a month.  These girls are charging through my life at lightning speed, taking my breath away, and this blog is an attempt to catch the fleeting beauty.

There is no end to the list of endearing epithets in this household.  Our eldest’s first nickname was Hoover (now that is a story to be told!), and we moved on to marshmallow, smudgekin, honey bunny, little love and more, but Boo is the one that stuck.  Our youngest is squeaky mouse, sugar booger, schmoopy, and of course Bubbles.

This blog will focus on our family life, homeschooling the preschool years, my experience as a mama, and the learning that is happening all the time.  Knowing me, I’d predict I’ll touch on homebirth, making a mess, breastfeeding, parenting challenges, supporting each other as parents, children’s literature, mindfulness and allowing creativity to flourish.  I’m not likely to post any mind-blowing recipes or photographs, but I’ll work on it and one thing I’ve learned is that I do grow and surprise myself.  Mostly I just want to hop on this fast-moving train, maybe bottle up a bit of steam as a souvenir.
